BROTHERS Fundraising Campaign to Benefit Prostate Cancer Research, Through the Canadian Cancer Society

Diagnosed with prostate cancer back in 2024, frightened, frozen in that year of hell, I scoured the internet for how it would change my world. With a year of terrifying tests, ultimate prognosis, treatment, and new learning behind me, I am humbled and taking action, founding BROTHERS From Another Father – a borderless initiative that helps men open up about our private battles with prostate cancer, confront stigma, share survivor stories, and treatment techniques, so we’re all better prepared for what may come.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, other than skin cancer, and the risks of incidence and death are wide-ranging, dependent on race or where one lives. Contrasted against the horrors of America or countries less wealthy unable to provide proper healthcare for their populations, I am privileged and proud to be Canadian. Kudos to my doctors, their outstanding professionalism, and care.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, a time for us to join together to transform the future of prostate cancer for an additional 27,900 men in Canada expected to be diagnosed this year. Prostate cancer is one of the least preventable cancers, making advancements in its treatment so important. It is typically passed down from fathers to their sons, Black men are doubly prone and 70% more likely to die, yet many men still refuse to talk about it or simply get tested.

In collaboration with The Canadian Cancer Society, BROTHERS seeks to raise funds to change the future of prostate cancer for friends, family and people impacted by the malignancy across Canada.

Please donate today and help BROTHERS From Another Father far surpass our fundraising goal. Though our fathers may be different, we’re all in this together. Your support would be life-changing to so many. I hope we can count on you.

Please visit BROTHERSfaf.com or The Canada Cancer Society to donate. You’ll be so very happy you did.

In Gratitude,

Len D. Henry
